Easy Chinese Cuisine: Soy Chicken Wings Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1/2 tsp crushed root ginger
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tsps sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Chinese wine or
- 2 tbsps dry sherry
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tbsps peanut oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 star anise
- 3 tbsps water
Instructions
- #These delicious chicken wings can be served on any occasion.# Wash chicken wings and dry on paper towels.
- Mix together ginger, light soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, wine, and seasoning. Pour marinade over chicken wings and leave for at least 1 hour, turning occasionally.
- Heat peanut oil until very hot. Add green onions and chicken wings, and fry until chicken is browned well on all sides.
- Add dark soy sauce, star anise and water. Bring to the boil, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove star anise. Serve hot or cold.
