1 piece fresh ginger root, peeled and roughly chopped
3 onions, finely sliced
1 garlic clove, chopped
1¼cupsbeef stock
1 pinch of sugar
2 tbsps dark soy sauce
1tspcornstarch, combined with a little water
Salt and pepper
Instructions
#Marinated beef, sauteed with onions, garlic and ginger and served in a smooth sauce.# Cut the fillet into very thin slices.
Mix together the marinade ingredients and stir in the meat. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok and sauté the ginger, onions and garlic until lightly browned.
Lift the meat out of the marinade with a slotted spoon and discard the marinade. Add the meat to the wok and sauté with the vegetables.
Pour over the stock, sugar and soy sauce. Cook for 4 minutes.
Thicken the sauce with the cornstarch, stirring continuously until the desired consistency is reached.
