Ever since my youth, whenever someone in the family had cystitis, the best thing to take was “cranberry juice.” I still enjoy drinking this juice, but now I look for the version which doesn’t contain corn syrup or inverted sugar; instead I look for the ones which are unsweetened or sweetened with apple and /or grape juices, dilute them with water and add some slices of lime or lemon.
Nutrients and Calories
Blackberries, rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene, calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus. They relieve diarrhea and are good blood cleaners and tonics. Wild blackberries are more flavorful than the cultivated ones!
Tips and Notes
Fresh cranberries can be used also as a tisane, in combination with other fruits in the compote, in smoothies and salad dressings.
