- 125 g (4 oz) butter
- 125 g (4 oz) dark chocolate
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup caster (superfine) sugar
- 1 cup plain flour
- 2 tablespoons self-raising flour
- ¾ cup chopped pecan or macadamia nuts
1 Place butter and chocolate in a saucepan over very low heat and stir until mixture is just smooth.
2 Place eggs and caster (superfine) sugar in a bowl and beat until mixture is pale and thick. Fold chocolate mixture, sifted flours and nuts through butter and eggs and pour mixture into a greased 20 cm (8 inch) square cake tin.
3 Bake in a preheated 180°C (350°F) oven for 30 minutes or until brownies are set. Allow brownies to cool and cut them into squares.
4 Serve with strong espresso coffee.
