INGREDIENTS
- 4×120 g (4 oz) tuna steaks
- 2 teaspoons kaffir lime juice
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 poppyseed bagels, halved and toasted
- Salad greens
FRIED CHILLI SALSA
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 4 green chillies, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 4 shallots, chopped
- 1 green tomato, seeds removed and chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Brush tuna with combined lime juice, ginger and soy sauce, To make chilli salsa, place oil in a hot frypan. Add chillies and garlic and cook until garlic is golden.
2 Add shallots, green tomato and sugar and cook for a further 3 minutes. Remove salsa from heat and keep it warm.
3 Cook tuna in a greased, hot frypan or on a char grill for no more than 45 seconds on each side.
4 To serve, place bagel bases on serving plates and top with tuna steaks. Add salad greens and top with chilli salsa and bagel tops.
