  • 1 large slice brown or white bread
  • 1/4 oz (7 g) soft butter
  • 1 small onion, peeled
  • 1 punnet mustard and cress
  • 5 canned mussels


  • Spread the bread with the butter. Chop the onion very finely and sprinkle half over the bread.
  • Snip the cress with scissors and sprinkle over the onion in a thick layer.
  • Drain the mussels thoroughly and arrange them on the bed of cress.
  • Garnish with the rest of the onion.
