How To Use Powdered Gelatine?

Gelatine must be softened and melted carefully because it easily cooks into strings or forms lumps when it is added to other mixtures.

How To Use Powdered Gelatine Steps:

pour the water, or other liquid called for in the recipe

1- To soften the gelatine: pour the water, or other liquid called for in the recipe, into a small saucepan and sprinkle the gelatine evenly on top of the liquid.

2- Let soak about 5 minutes; the gelatine will swell to a spongy consistency.

3- To melt the gelatine: warm the saucepan over very low heat, or set it in a large bowl of hot water. Heat gently without stirring, shaking the pan occasionally. Stir the warm melted gelatine into a tepid mixture until evenly distributed. TAKE CARE: Do not stir the gelatine during melting, or it may form lumps.
